Proudly presented by TD, The Great Gala was a celebration of The Darling Home for Kids’ 20th Annual Comfort & Joy Gala event, held on October 25th.  The gala event was hosted by Global TV’s Susan Hay, as guests were transported back in time with all the glitz and glam of the Roaring Twenties. The ‘20s was a decade of great economic growth and widespread prosperity – truly a time to celebrate! With the name – The Great Gala – expectations were high and the event did not disappoint!

When guests arrived, they gave the password at the door to enter a speakeasy where they sipped on Gin Ricky’s while mingling with the other Guys & Dolls in attendance. A four-course meal followed with entertainment reminiscent of the era! The night kicked off with youth from the Milton Show Choir entertaining guests with a performance fitting of the era, and later The Doubts took to the stage which had everyone up on the dance floor. The night’s fundraising activities included a raffle with prizes totaling over $9,500, live and silent auctions and a tower with over 40 bottles of wines that a lucky winner took home at the end of the night.

The Great Gala, presented by TD, raised over $155,000 to directly support The Darling Home for Kids. To date, this annual black-tie event has raised over $2.85M for the charity.

“Our Comfort & Joy Gala is our charity’s single largest fundraising event of the year, and with its long-standing history over the past 20 years, it is the cornerstone upon which we built our Home and continue to operate it today,” said Kristin Horrell, Chief Executive Officer for The Darling Home for Kids. “We are immensely thankful to all of our donors, guests and special friends who have shared in this special milestone event, The Great Gala, and in doing so helps us to raise valuable funds for children and families in our community.”
