NORMA TRIVINO’S STORY honoring and celebrating Canada’s 150th Anniversary of Confederation.
Canada is a country of opportunity: A poor family of six immigrated to Canada in the early 1970’s. They struggled to make it by, despite living in government-assisted housing.
One of their daughters barely graduated from high school. She struggled through college because she was also raising two young children.
Then, Canada gave her an opportunity: She was blessed to land a job in a branch of the Federal government where she worked for 18 years. She became bilingual through in-house French classes.
At the peak of her career, she sat on the Advisory Council to the President of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), the largest Crown Corporation (in terms of assets). That girl was me!
Thank you Canada for such an incredible opportunity. God keep our land glorious and free!
