River Run Centre announces its 20th Anniversary Season, (2017-2018) of professional entertainment which will include comedy, music and theatre for the whole family.
“This season marks a milestone, as the River Run Centre celebrates its 20th Anniversary on October 4th, 2017,” said General Manager of Culture, Tourism and Community Investment Danna Evans.
Carroll Baker performed as part of the opening night gala on October 4th 1997, and it is fitting that Canada’s “First Lady of County Music” returns to the stage at River Run Centre on October 4th to help mark 20 years of world-class entertainment.
The Miijidaa Family Series features music, magical theatre and acrobats starting with the Mini Pop Kids. Take a magical journey with B -The Underwater Bubble Show, The Peking Acrobats and Scrap Arts Music round off the series.
When it comes to music, the Richardson GMP Music Series serves up a variety of acts including one of Canada’s finest jazz singers Emilie-Claire Barlow. Also included are the Sons of Serendip, Tartan Terrors, The Cowboy Junkies, Gord Bamford, an unforgettable double bill with Digging Roots and Dione Taylor. Canadian music icon Tom Cochrane with Red Rider will be coming in March and Kim Mitchell closes the series.
Wooly Kinderconcerts features a Saturday morning series that includes The Nutcracker, Hansel, Gretel and the Witch and Cinderella.
Not to be outdone, the GuelphToday.com Comedy Series showcases comedy favourites including the “King of Canadian Comedy” Mike MacDonald, Louie Anderson, The Just for Laughs Road Show, now in its 15th year of touring Ontario and last but not least, a superstar of the stand-up stage, Roseanne Barr, closes the series and the season.
