It was a beautiful sunny Saturday for the annual Community Environment Day that was hosted by Councillor Gord Perks and the City of Toronto. The well organized event had cars lining up and helpers getting everything out of trunks quickly and efficiently. Residents were able to properly dispose of household hazardous waste including old batteries, solvents, fluorescent bulbs, expired medications and more. Crews also accept old electronics including cell phones, computers, printers and TVs. The huge compost pile was a very popular spot as many came with all kinds of carrying apparatus’ to load up and bring home to get their gardens Spring ready.
