Over 230 distinguished guests gathered at the 2019 Heart House Gala on Saturday, March 30th at the Mississauga Convention Centre to fundraise and bring awareness to compassionate hospice care. The guests enjoyed an evening of laughs, dancing, friend-raising and fundraising. Guests were entertained by our emcee Anwar Knight, broadcaster from CTV news, enjoyed a gourmet meal including a fabulous antipasto bar, and had the opportunity to bid on an array of luxury items and life experiences featured in both silent and live auctions and new to this year’s gala  – a wine auction.  Everyone then danced the evening away to the sounds of the George St. Kitts Band. Our objective of the evening was to raise awareness for compassionate community hospice care. This was an evening that touched many and was like no other for our community.

With everyone’s help, we were able to raise over $56,000; exceeding our fundraising goal of $50,000.  The dollars raised will directly impact the work we do at the hospice, helping individuals who are facing a palliative diagnosis and those who love them.  You have made a meaningful difference to their end-of-life experience.

Heart House Hospice hosts several events throughout the year; our next event is our Hike for Hospice scheduled for Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Lakeside Park. This event will be a 5km walk or run in memory of loved ones lost.  For further information, including sponsorship opportunities,  please visit www.hikeforhospicemississauga.ca, or contact Shelley Maynard directly at 905-712-8119 ext. 233 (smaynard@hearthousehospice.com).
