‘Cheers’ were offered by Santa, greeting hundreds at the door of Nickel Brook Brewing’s Holiday Market in Burlington. Guests were able to shop for Christmas gifts in the Tap Room, enjoy craft beers, a Barque Smokehouse barbecue and monster donuts while listening to holiday tunes. Non-perishables were collected for the food drive. Shoppers browsed items such as handmade soaps, artsy dishware, jewelry, puppy bow ties, and more.
The award-winning Nickel Brook has a reputation as one of Ontario’s most exciting craft breweries. Recently, the original Burlington brewery was turned into a Funk Lab. Their motto “Beer, Down to a Science” explains the ‘beeriodic chart’ covering one of the walls, and beer names such as ‘uncertainty principle No 1.
Their experimental brewing style involves melding various yeast and bacteria strains to come up with unique flavours. For further complexity, beer can be aged in whisky, wine, gin or tequila barrels. Fans have come to expect unique, original and delicious flavours from this ‘science-lab’ brewery.
Tickets are quickly running out for NickelBrook’s next event; Sausage Making and Beer Pairing Workshops coming up this winter.
