On Sunday, July 22, Jim Tovey’s induction to the Music Walk of Fame commenced. Unfortunately, due to the unfavorable weather conditions, the traditional unveiling of the star was put on hold. Instead, the ceremonies were moved into the River Room of the Arena. Space was filled with family, friends and the people of Port Credit. Speakers such as Mayor Bonnie Crombie and MP Sven Spengeman shared their favorite, funny and loving stories of Jim. Inductee Gil Moore of Metalworks sponsored the production and read a story of Jim written by John Stewart. Many artists such as Jim’s bandmates (Andrew Dixon and Dave Smith) made a special musical tribute in memory of their dear friend. After the ceremonies, the skies cleared, shining sunlight on the long-awaited unveiling of Jim’s star.
