Canadian Arctic Culture Shared in Roncesvalles
Royal Canadian Geographical Society Fellow, David Newland, pays homage to his experiences as an expedition adventurer in Canada’s Arctic North, by partnering with an Inuit throat – singing duo, the Roncesvalles Gospel Choir and performing himself alongside fellow musicians “Uncharted Waters” at an evening concert inside of Roncesvalles United Church.
Choosing the venue location was a poetic and reverent nod to the spirit and culture of our Indigenous North. Preceding the nighttime event, afternoon workshops, a photographic gallery, Inuit Art, video and cultural games were showcased.
Gospel Choir Master & Parkdale resident Joanna Mills encouraged and participated in the collaboration.
