Mississauga celebrated Pride Month in honour of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots with a Pride Picnic at the Unitarian Congregation who donated the space to the alliance as a “safe space” for the picnic on Saturday, June 29th. The event featured lots of activities, speakers and performers as well as many awesome vendors. It was a wonderful day to celebrate, and be to be thankful for, but recognizing that work still needs to be done in creating an inclusive society for all LGBTQ2S+ people to be themselves.
