Community Capture’s Sue London had the honour of visiting the Shalom Manor and Gardens Art Showcase that was held on October 11th and 12th. As she explored the gallery she noticed how every piece of significance reflected a unique perspective and experience of each artist. Each piece included a write up about the artist along with their journey. The Shalom Manor residents contributed historical pieces, as well as artwork that was created while living at Shalom. Some were individual pieces, while others were collaborative. Many people see aging as a difficult journey. However, aging can also bring a new sense of freedom, imagination, a lack of inhibition, and a beauty that resonates deeply from the wisdom, love and experience of years lived well. Celebrate our seniors, learn from them, and spend quality time with them. It will be very enriching for you!
