Waterdown’s Skatepark, a part of Memorial Park, attracted lots of action in the sunny May weather. Groups of athletic folks gathered with their boards and protective gear; helmets, elbow pads and knee pads to challenge themselves and each other while they took turns skateboarding to a background of loud music. They made it look fun and easy. For those passionate about the sport, this skatepark is complete with a spine, elevator corner, over-vert corner, and roll-in. Obstacles added to the apron of the bowl include a flat bar, curved ledges, and curbs. This skatepark was made for all skill levels. Waterdown Community has been strengthened by the building of this structure which encourages socializing, keeping in shape and a love for skateboarding.
