THIS YEAR’S WOOFEST WAS A BARKING SUCCESS!
Woofest raised $5,000 before the event even kicked of and a total of $12,500 thanks in large part to the wonderful local business sponsors eager to show their support for the surrounding community.
My team and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the community for their support. A special thanks to all the volunteers who gave their time to make this event such a wonderful experience. An additional big thanks to the dedicated sponsors and donors as well as the musicians, Daniel Lanois and Crooked House Road for an amazing show that had everyone rocking out!
The festival was held at Master Mechanic in High Park in conjunction with the Dundas West Animal Hospital. The event included entertainment for dogs and their owners as well as lots of advise from dog trainers and attending vets.
The event also included contests with prizes going to the best dog costume, best dog smile and, of course the best dog trick. With the live music and food provided by Barque Smokehouse in Roncesvalles. Woofest packed in over 1,000 guests as well as hundreds of dogs of every breed and size imaginable for a fun filled afternoon.
The funds raised will be distrubuted to several local charities including The Mooseonee Puppy Rescue, The Farley Foundation, The Parkdale Food Bank, The Redwood and The Barrhead Animal Rescue. Some of the proceeds will also be going to help animals impacted by the fires in Fort McMurry. Our event also helped 4 puppies find new homes.
A last thank you goes out to my event partner Scott Bainbridge of Dundas West Animal Hospital, my supportive husband Danny Candito, business partner Mike Tavares, my shop foreman Rui Silvestre, Service Manager Victor Cole and the rest of my team, especally Furbaby Charlie, for all their work behind the scenes.
Thank you all!
